Dear Members,

We continue to monitor the ever-changing situation around Covid in the community to best ensure the safety and wellbeing of all. During the current holiday period, we especially want to provide a safe environment for all to enjoy.

Following a review of the current Covid-19 situation and its effects on the community, along with feedback from our members and staff, the Board and Management have decided to continue to retain the current mandatory vaccination policy for all patrons attending both Ryde-Eastwood Leagues and Club Thirroul. As a result of this, all members and guests, staff and contractors will be required to show proof of vaccination when entering both clubs until 28th February 2022.

We remind all members and guests that current restrictions and rules when entering the club include:
• QR code check-ins are required whenever entering the club
• Masks will remain mandatory except whilst eating and drinking
• Singing and dancing is not permitted except for weddings, performers, and instructors
• Capacity is limited to one person per 2sqm

We also note the Mandatory Vaccination Policy remains in The Fitness Centre and Swim School. In these areas, we continue employ social distancing and will review and implement measures to ensure the safest environment for our members.

We respect and appreciate that the Clubs’ changes continue to affect some of our members, and we hope that all will understand that our focus is on the best interests of our members, guests, staff and the wider community. We will continue to review the situation and swiftly action any necessary changes.

Thank you
Carl Pozzato

Dear Members

We are continuing to monitor the ever-changing situation around COVID in the community and to do our best to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all. We especially want to ensure that during the current holiday period we continue to provide a safe environment for all to enjoy.

Following the increase in cases and our focus on the safety of the community, the Board and Management have further reviewed our mandatory vaccination policy for patrons attending both Ryde-Eastwood Leagues, and Club Thirroul. As a result of this, in the interest of our staff members and guests, the Clubs will retain the current measures of only permitting vaccinated patrons and contractors into the venues until 1 February 2022.

We again feel that extending the vaccination requirement will continue to support our ability to manage the situation best, and to ensure the safest possible environment for our patrons.

In addition to this we encourage patrons to do their best to assist in trying to prevent the spread. This includes ensuring they continue to check in to the venue when visiting, socially distance while in the Clubs wherever possible and where possible we encourage patrons to wear a mask. The Clubs will ensure they are doing their part with added emphasis on cleaning and sanitation, keeping members informed on any changes, managing numbers in areas to ensure social distancing and mask wearing of all staff.

We respect and appreciate that the Clubs' changes may affect some of our members and hope that all will understand our focus is in the best interest of our members, guests and wider community. We will continue to review the situation and act swiftly to do our part.

The Board, Management and Staff wish all members a happy and safe Christmas and New Year and look forward to seeing you at both Ryde-Eastwood Leagues and Club Thirroul as we put this year behind us and welcome in 2022.

Thank you
Carl Pozzato

In addition, it is our objective to achieve and maintain hygiene, health, safety, and welfare standards in

Dear (member name)

Firstly, a big welcome back to all our members and it has been great to see so many faces again at the centre. It was a busy first few weeks working the logistics around Covid-19 and ensuring a safe and clean environment. We continue to update procedures and work on ways to provide a smooth comeback to the centre and again we thank all members for your support and patience during this time

We wanted to provide an update on a few things at the centre as we continue to work back to normality during this time.

As noted all memberships are back up and running and we have worked through with members any updates to details and circumstances. Fitness Passport members will be active as of the 1st July to again enjoy the facilities

Member Experience and Visits

Members will find a few things different when coming to the gym.

Firstly, when attending we ask members to continue to swipe their card or tag their wristband to enter at reception. This is to remove touch points and speed the process up. For members attending group fitness classes they will just attend the kiosk to collect their class ticket (see below details on Group Fitness).

Also, during this time for hygiene reasons, we will not be loaning wrist bands. This is for the safety of staff and members going forward. Many members have their own wrist band so they can scan in and then use lockers. For any members wishing to use lockers they can purchase a wrist band for $10 from reception. This is half price during this time and will enable members to access car park, gym entry, lockers, and clock in.

We also ask members to respect others and social distancing in all areas. Members cannot gather around reception and are asked to sign in and move to their training.

We are required to have clear guidelines and conditions of entry. Members are asked to ensure they comply with the conditions before and during their visit.

Conditions of entry can be found here

Key points include Must have a towel at all times and clean any equipment before and after use

To assist with Group Fitness classes, Members payment/updates and other features we have launched our Online Members Access.

This can be accessed via the club website or by clicking here.

We thank members for working with us over the last two weeks to set up accounts for all to get back to the gym. It is important we have correct contact details and email as this is required for the account to work. Members need to ensure we have an email on file to start an account. The initial set up only takes a few minutes.

If you have any issues starting your account we ask you to email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.with any concerns with your name, member number and the email you will use to start the account. We will work to rectify the issue ASAP and get you up and running.

Following the first few weeks we have reviewed and changed a few things.

Firstly some of our classes will go back to 45 min classes now we have the cleaning aspect worked through.

Secondly we will be starting our Aqua Classes from Monday 6th July. This will start with 9 classes and a max of 20 people per class.

NOTE: All classes must be booked online prior to attending. It is important to start your online account to ensure you can book into classes.

Members wanting to use the creche will need to also book online through the member access. Once logged in go to BOOK ONLINE and CRECHE. From here you can select available time slots and time.

Note our conditions of entry are included in the creche. This includes temperature checks prior to entry and not permitting entry if showing signs of being sick. Also, there will be no eating or changing of babies during this time. Bookings can be made 24 hours prior to attending.

Swim School is running its Holiday Programme in July and we have limited spots available for kids of Gym Members.

Monday 6th July  to  Friday 10th for 5 days. 3 years and over.

Please email the swim school to book This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

As more information becomes available we will ensure members are kept informed. If you have any questions we ask that you email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we will do our best to assist as soon as possible.

Dear member

It is great to be able to communicate again with members of The Fitness Edge and provide an update on the centre’s operations following the closure over the last few months to manage the risk of COVID-19.

We are pleased to advise that we will reopen our doors on Monday 15th June, as part of the easing of restrictions from the NSW Government and NSW Health. Much work has been done in the background with the industry to plan for the reopening, albeit with restrictions, and to ensure that we provide a safe and welcoming environment for all our Fitness Edge members.

We have worked hard over recent months in preparing the centre for reopening and ensuring we offer as many of the great services as previously offered prior to shut down. As mentioned, there are still restrictions in place and we need to ensure that we are all working together to observe our compliance obligations and to protect the safety and wellbeing of all members and staff.

We have also developed a raft of management plans and procedures, as well as a new focus for our team to ensure that two main objectives are met:

  1. We deliver great customer service.
  2. We ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

Some key points you may have already seen highlighted in the media include:

  1. A maximum 100 participants in any fitness venue based on square meterage space within the centre. This means there will be some limitations in certain areas; we will advise members through clear signage and staff communication.
  2. A limitation of 10 participants per class. This includes any group fitness classes. We are currently developing a timetable in which we aim to include the continuation of outdoor classes. We are also looking at new ways to manage bookings for classes prior to attending.
  3. The possible inclusion of indoor pool access, with restrictions, will be advised in due course.

In the coming days, we should receive more details on any changes in restrictions that will assist us in preparing the necessary measures to be communicated to our members. Unfortunately, this information is not yet available.

We understand you have many questions, and we assure all members that once we know the full details we will advise everyone what our return will look like from 15th June.

Thank you, and we look forward to welcoming you back to The Fitness Edge at Ryde-Eastwood Leagues Club.

18 May 2020

Time has been ticking away and we are sure our members are keen to get back to The Fitness Edge.

It has been almost two months since we closed due to COVID-19 restrictions in order to ensure the health and safety of all our members and community.

The great news over the last week is that we now have a plan from government to enable us to open our doors to our members once again. We have been working hard in the background with online classes and building a library to keep you motivated at home.

We have also been working on what future stages are likely and what we will be able to offer our members. The upshot is that we have some great news for all.

Stage one started on Friday, permitting outdoor groups of up to 10. We are excited to announce we will be running outdoor classes for our members starting this Wednesday 20th May. These will include classes such as Bootcamp, Yoga, Strength, Fit’n’Well, HIIT and boxing, and will be run from the club car park with a plan in mind to move some classes to Anzac Park in coming weeks.

We note that when we closed, all members had their fees placed on hold, and while the centre is closed this will remain in place. For these classes there will be a $7.50 charge per class which can be paid once a booking is made and the member attends. CLICK HERE to see the timetable of classes available or see our website for further details.

To book your spot click on the online booking line

Please ensure that you read the Welcome Message and T&Cs and then book your class by selecting BOOK APPOINTMENT on the left and select the class. Again, at this time outdoor classes are only available to members of The Fitness Centre.

The Stage two COVID-19 plan from the government sees an increase to 20 participants in outdoor classes and possibly the opening of indoor gyms and pools. This is rumoured to include limited numbers of possibly 20 persons but clear details are not yet forthcoming. We will continue to monitor this situation to determine if and when we can reopen the centre.

There is no clear date on when this may happen but we are hopeful it will be at some point in June. Watch This Space . . .

We note that much good work has gone into ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our members, both outside and inside the gym. We have placed great emphasis on our procedures and policies on hygiene measures and offerings, as well as ways to ensure good social distancing throughout the gym. We have moved the floor and increased sanitation stock to ensure that when you come back you are confident you will be training in the best possible environment.

We are working with staff and contractors to ensure the best measures and facilities are in place for your return.

It continues to be a testing time for all members and staff and their family members in dealing with the necessary government measures imposed, but we all agree they are required to ensure the wellbeing of everyone in our community.

We feel these restrictions are starting to lift and can see the goal of reopening in site and continue to focus on the road ahead.

We hope to see everyone back at the Fitness Edge very soon.
